Liechtenstein Jaw crusher

Product Description

1. Purpose and Scope of Application

1.1 This series of crushers is primarily used in the metallurgical, mining, chemical, cement, construction, refractory and ceramic industries for the medium and fine crushing of various medium-hard ores and rocks.

1.2 This series of crushers is best suited for crushing various soft and hard ores with a compressive strength not exceeding 320 MPa; the maximum size of the material to be crushed must not exceed the limits specified in the technical specifications table.

2. Structural Overview

The jaw crusher mainly consists of several components, including the stationary body, rotating body, safety device and adjustment mechanism.

2.1 Fixed Body: The main component of the jaw crusher’s fixed body is the frame. There are two manufacturing processes for the frame: cast medium-carbon steel frames and welded medium-carbon steel plate frames. Welded frames incorporate additional reinforcing ribs based on the original cast frame design; through strict quality control and specific process requirements, they achieve the same performance as cast frames. To prevent severe wear on the side walls of the frame, replaceable wear plates are fitted on the upper left and right sides of the crushing chamber.

2.2 Rotating Assembly: Comprising the moving jaw, eccentric shaft, bearings, and pulleys, this is the primary component of the jaw crusher responsible for power transmission and load-bearing.

     a. The moving jaw consists of components such as the moving jaw bracket and the movable jaw plate. The moving jaw bracket of the jaw crusher is made of 35# cast steel and has undergone tempering treatment.

     b. The eccentric shaft of the jaw crusher is machined from 45# steel and has undergone tempering treatment.

     c. The bearings are double-row spherical roller bearings, characterised by fine adjustment capabilities, high load-bearing capacity and durability.

     d. The jaw plates are of two types: movable and fixed. To enhance crushing efficiency, the surface features an optimised tooth profile, whilst the material, ZGMn13, offers high hardness, wear resistance and excellent performance.

2.3 Adjustment Mechanism: This mechanism is used to adjust the size of the discharge opening and control the particle size of the output from the jaw crusher. There are two types of adjustment mechanisms for jaw crushers: the extended wedge type and the push-rod shim type. Both offer convenient and flexible adjustment, enabling stepless adjustment.

3. Performance Characteristics

3.1 The deep crushing chamber with no dead zones enhances feeding capacity and output:

3.2 It offers a high crushing ratio and produces uniform particle sizes;

3.3 The shim-type discharge opening adjustment mechanism is reliable and convenient, with a wide adjustment range, increasing the equipment’s flexibility

3.4 The lubrication system is safe and reliable, with easy component replacement and minimal maintenance requirements:

3.5 Simple structure, reliable operation and low running costs.

3.6 Energy-efficient equipment: individual units save 15%–30% energy, whilst the system achieves energy savings of more than double:

3.7 The wide range of discharge opening adjustment meets the requirements of different users;

3.8 Low noise and minimal dust generation.

4. Working Principle

Although jaw crushers come in various structural configurations, their working principle remains the same: crushing material through the periodic movement of the moving jaw. As the moving jaw swings around the pivot pin towards the fixed jaw, the material situated between the two jaw plates is subjected to a combination of crushing, splitting and bending forces. Initially, the pressure is relatively low, causing the volume of the material to decrease as the particles move closer together and are compressed; when the pressure rises beyond the material’s breaking strength, crushing occurs. Conversely, when the moving jaw swings away from the fixed jaw in the opposite direction, the material moves downwards under its own weight. Each cyclic movement of the moving jaw subjects the material to a crushing action and discharges it a short distance downwards. After several cycles, the crushed material is discharged from the machine through the discharge opening. As the electric motor rotates continuously, the moving jaw of the crusher performs cyclic movements to crush and discharge the material, thereby achieving batch production.

6. Maintenance Procedures

To ensure the normal operation of the jaw crusher, in addition to correct operation, scheduled maintenance must be carried out, including daily maintenance checks, minor repairs, intermediate repairs and major overhauls.

6.1 Minor repairs: Main tasks include inspecting and repairing adjustment mechanisms, setting the discharge gap, and turning or replacing worn liners. This also involves inspecting the transmission system and lubrication system, as well as changing the lubricating oil. Minor repairs are typically carried out every 1–3 months.

6.2 Intermediate Overhaul: In addition to all the work carried out during a minor overhaul, this includes replacing thrust plates and liners, as well as inspecting and repairing bearing shells. The interval for an intermediate overhaul is generally around 1–2 years.

6.3 Major Overhaul: In addition to all the work carried out during a medium overhaul, this includes replacing or turning the eccentric shaft and moving jaw spindle, casting Babbitt alloy onto the upper part of the connecting rod head, and replacing or repairing all worn components. The interval for a major overhaul is generally around 5 years.
