Product Description
HEA Exciter
1. Overview
1.1. Features
This is low voltage discharge device, with more sparkles, smaller volume, easy to handle and is corrosive-proof.
1.2. Application
It is widely used in industries of electricity, petrochemical, metallurgical, aviation, etc.
1.3.Code Illustration
These codes consist of company name, product code, data and structure model.
XDH-20-**
X stands for Manufacture XCC
DH stands for product name: HEA Exciter
20J------Energy grade
**----C means structure feature, C-stamp housing
2. Working Principle
This HEA Ignition Unit consists of XDH-20C ignition exciter, XDZ-1-1600 spark rod and XDL-3000 shielded cable.
Supply an AC240V voltage to the ignition exciter. This input voltage is converted to an D.C pulse voltage by step-up transformer and rectifier and charges an energy-storing capacitor. When the voltage across the capacitor reaches the breakdown level of the discharging tube, the capacitor discharges and the discharging current flows through discharging tube, choke coil, connecting cable and spark rod to produce high energy sparks at the spark rod firing gap. When the exciter stops, residual electricity is discharged through the discharge resistor. (See Drawing 1)

4. Outline and mounting dimensions ( See Drawing 4 as attached)

5. Mounting and Regulation
5.1. EA exciter shall be used with proper connecting cable and spark rod. Connect the spark rod to the HEA exciter, using the high-voltage connecting cable. The two threaded connectors of the connecting cable shall be properly connected to their counterparts on the exciter and spark rod. Tighten the connector lock nut so that the central electrodes contact well, otherwise strike arc might occur resulting in internal damage of the unit. (See Drawing 2)

5.2. The firing end of the spark rod should be located where the fuel is dense. Judging from experience, the dimension L between 100mm 〜150mm is normally adjusted, depending on oil gun spray angle and diffuser cone flow recycling. (See Drawing 3)

5.3. After mounting, supply the exciter with power.
Notice: Do not touch electric parts when igniting.
6. Usage and Operation
6.1. Do not energize the exciter if the spark rod is not connected to the exciter.
6.2. Connect the exciter correctly and insert firing end into fuel tank for 100 ~150mm.
6.3. In high charge, do follow the working period prescribed.
6.4. Do cut off power if it is off for long time.
6.5. To service the exciter, disconnect power supply and wait for at least 5 minutes before service operation.
7. Troubles and Troubleshooting
| Troubles | Cause | Troubleshooting |
| Strike arc occurs at the exciter-cable connector | Poor contact between exciter and connecting cable | Reconnect |
| Strike arc occurs at the spark rod-cable connector | Poor contact between exciter and connecting cable | Reconnect |
| The HEA Ignition unit does | 1.System power not supplied to the unit | Check the power supply |
| 2. Poor contact among exciter, spark rod and connecting cable | Reconnect | |
| 3. Connecting cable broken or short-circuit | Replace the cable | |
| 4 . Spark rod damaged | Replace the rod | |
| 5. HEA exciter damaged | Repair or replace the exciter |
