Product description

The hysteresis cable drum is a kind of cable winding device which provides power supply for the large mobile crane to move on the track. It is widely used in the large mechanical equipment with similar working conditions such as port gantry crane and container crane

The magnetic lag cable drum is used in various bucket turbines. Compared with counterweight type and torque motor type, the magnetic cable drum has small volume, full function, convenient installation and maintenance, approximate constant tension. It can adjust the output torque according to the actual working conditions, and has good braking function, without the need to install the brake, and can be blocked for a long time without damage.

 

1. Structure:

The hysteresis cable drum is composed of cable reel, planetary gear, cone reducer, drum collector, hysteresis coupling and motor.

Working principle of hysteresis coupling:

The hysteresis coupling is a disk made of several permanent magnetic steel to alternately multi-stage magnetic field. On the opposite side of the disk is a cutting strong magnetic induction disk. When the motor drives the magnetic induction disk to rotate at high speed, the magnetic coupling drives the disk to run. Once the speed slip between the two disks appears, the multi-stage magnetic field of the disk is cut by the sensitive disk, thus creating a torque to resist this slip. This is the special magnetic connection between the two disks, which drives (brakes) the disk to rotate.

 

2. Working principle of cable drum:

The cable drum is transmitted by the motor to the hysteresis coupling. After the reduction of the multi-stage gear, the amplified torque is transmitted to the cable reel. Because of the one-way bearing of the hysteresis coupling, the transmission power is non-contact magnetic connection and one-way transmission torque. When the cable drum is working, the motor always rotates in the direction of cable receiving. When the equipment moves away from the power supply point, the magnetic torque of the magnetic coupling is overcome by dragging the cable, causing slip between the two disks, and releasing the cable on the coil. Due to the existence of magnetic coupling, the magnetic torque of the hysteresis coupling will always remain in the tension state during the cable laying, When the lifting equipment goes back, the pulling force of the cable is eliminated, and the cable drum is rotated in the set coiling direction. Because the hysteresis coupling has the coupling function of special torque, the cable drum can realize the ideal coiling characteristics and can block the rotation for a long time.

When the mobile device starts to slow down, the coil plate will be pulled by dragging cable to continue to rotate due to the inertia still sliding for a certain distance. This is because the backstop (one-way bearing located in the hysteresis coupling) can only be transferred and operated in one direction. The drive motor is actually stopped. The coil continues to rotate to drive the sliding difference between the induction disk and the disk inside the hysteresis coupling, It can keep 80% of the locked torque, ensure that the cable is not loose, and the cable will not be damaged by accidental dragging even when the mobile device is in shutdown.

 

3. Installation:

3.1. The direction of cable retraction and release is installed vertically with the walking direction

3.2. The direction of cable retraction and release shall be installed in the same direction as the walking direction

3.3. The cable drum is installed in the whole machine with stable and firm structure and can bear heavy load; Convenient cable location for reeling (e.g. steel girder with excellent rigidity and strength)

3.4. The cable reel must be equipped with effective cable guide device to ensure that cable reel does not jam during the cable reel retracting and releasing during crane walking.

3.5. The center of cable tray width, the center of outlet outlet of cable guide device and the center of ground cable trough shall be on a unified vertical line, and the horizontal line shall be parallel to the ground cable trough.

3.6. The cable guide device shall be installed on the incoming side of the coil, and the center shall be in the vertical direction from the outer ring of the coil to the horizontal line of the diameter of the bottom of the coil.

3.7. The straight distance between the outlet port of the upper end face and the nearest point of the coil and the vertical distance between the lower end face and the ground of the cable guide device shall not be less than the bending radius of the cable.

3.8. After the installation and wiring is completed, all packing boxes such as coil, collector box, motor, etc. must be sealed and waterproof.

3.9. Check whether the wiring cable of brush holder has contact with the rotating part of slip ring, especially the arc isolating plate of high-voltage drum, and try to have enough space.

 

4. Debugging:

4.1. The motor used for cable reel can only rotate in one direction according to the direction specified by the mark. Therefore, the manufacturer has marked the obvious turning direction on the cover of the drum motor. After the user completes the wiring, conduct a separate electric test on the motor to determine the direction of rotation, so that the running direction of the motor is the same as the marked direction of rotation. If multiple motors are used to drive the cable reel, it must be ensured that the direction of rotation of multiple motors is consistent. Otherwise, the motor or other parts will be damaged.

4.2. When the cable reel is working normally, it is not allowed to change the power phase sequence of the motor or conduct reverse connection braking, otherwise the internal one-way bearing will be damaged, the cable reel will lose the braking function, and the motor may also be burned.

4.3. In order to save electricity and ensure the quality of cable retraction and release, the cable drum motor must start synchronously with the running mechanism of the host machine. When the host machine stops, it is better to delay the power off of the cable drum motor for a few seconds.

4.4. If the power supply phase sequence inevitably changes, the power supply phase sequence protection box shall be installed.

4.5. The cable reel shall be kept clean during use.

 

5. The test items during use are as follows:

5.1. Check the current of each motor during cable laying. The current of all motors shall be relatively balanced, and the current shall not exceed the rated current of motor during cable laying.

5.2. When the crane walks to the center of the power supply pit, the cable is in a vertical state. At this time, the cable should not be tight, and it should be in a soft state by shaking with hands.

5.3. When the cart reaches the farthest point of the cable pit, after parking, hold the cable with both hands and pull it down. At this time, the cable should slide slowly under the action of external force.

5.4. When the crane moves to any position and stops, the power of the winding motor will be cut off after a delay. At this time, the cable should have a small free sliding action, so that the cable will be in a free arc state under the cable guiding device.

 

6. Maintenance

Generally, the cable drum works for a long time in the harsh environment of high temperature, humidity, salt fog, dust, etc. it is necessary to regularly check the lubrication of the conical reducer, cylindrical straight gear reducer, hysteresis coupling, planetary gear box, as well as the bearing and gear meshing surface of the transmission part, and regularly fill or replace the lubricating oil. The collector of the drum shall be inspected regularly to keep the inside of the collector box clean and dry, the slip ring and carbon brush in good contact, and the cable joint connected reliably.
