1. Structure and working principle

1.1. Structure

Constant filling fluid couplings have pump wheel, turbo, runner, assistant room turbo and so on, commonly pump wheel connects to the electric motor by input coupling. The turbo is fixed on the main shaft and connects to the driven machine in output coupling. The runner connects flange of pump wheel. It's prevents work liquid lost away. Assistant room can adjust the work liquid by itself.

Pump wheel and turbo are symmetry .and the m2x diameter of work room is dimension of coupling.

1.2. Working principle

When the work room limit the work liquid, electric motor bring pump wheel run, and the work liquid is running also then transform energy to strike turbo. It makes turbo running with pump wheel.

 

2. Characteristic:

2.1. Increasing the starting performance of motor. Reducing the starting current, and shorten the starting time.

2.2. Overload protection: Able to prevent the motor from being burnt out caused by motor stop-running in case of overload.

2.3. Reducing the capacity of electric motor. Be able to fully use the maximum torque of motor to start the great inertia of working machine.

2.4. Cancel the shock and vibration: Use the fluid coupling to cancel the shock loading (including shock and torque) in operation. So it not only can effectively prevent the machine from being broken, but also can considerably prolong the service life of machine.

2.5. Able to automatically adjust the loading-distribution of multi initiating motors parallel connection.

 

3. Installation and adjustment (see picture 2)

The couplings installed in the input and output ends of the YOX style fluid coupling support the main shaft must be one of the ends use flexible connection at least. Commonly, use elastic ring pin, thin compounded steel piece, or nylon pin.

The deviant of the fluid coupling's loading from the prime motor's is allowable, but if it is excessive, the coupling and some other units of the fluid coupling will be broken easily caused by reacting force, and the latex oil seal will be worn out and cause oil leaking, so the equipment is unable to run regularly. The elastic elements are also easily worn out and even broken out .Because of these reasons, the precise adjustment in installation is necessary.

3.1 Installation and Adjustment of STYLE Connection MODE.

3.1.1 Fasten the input end of the fluid coupling to electric motor in coupling.

3.1.2 Measure the radial deviant by centigrade measuring, and measure the axial deviant by probe.

3.1.3 Fasten the anchor bolts and install the elastic connect units. Installation completes.

3.2 Installation and Adjustment of Style II Connection Mode

3.2.1 Install the coupling to the motor shaft.

3.2.2 Install the fluid coupling to the load shaft. In the process of installing slightly knock the inner face of hollow shaft until the fluid coupling perched by hard wood pad or aluminum bar. Notice: Forbid to using iron hammer knocking the Shell of fluid coupling.

3.2.3 Move the motor with coupling to the fluid coupling, and keep a reasonable distance with it.

3.2.4 Fasten the anchor bolts while being aligned by centigrade measuring and probe.

3.3 Installation and Adjustment of Style YOXp

3.3.1Lift the fluid coupling horizontally ,and let the shaft hole of fluid coupling aligning to the shaft head of electric motor, then slightly knock the inner face of hollow shaft until the fluid coupling perched by hard wood pad or aluminum bar ,and tightly locked by hanger bolts prevent the fluid coupling raising axial jumpiness.

3.3.2 In the process of aligning, try the best to make the motor shaft been paralleled to the load shaft, and not to tighten the belt too much.

3.4 Installation and Adjustment of Style YOXnz

3.4.1 Locate the output coupling connected with brake dump to the fastened load shaft in opposite procedure as described in 3.2, then locate the fluid coupling to motor shaft.

3.4.2 Move the motor with fluid coupling to coupling. Keep distance in the flange surface of fluid coupling and the end of coupling, its size, and the alignment, and the deviant is according to the correlation content described in 3.2. Fasten the anchor bolts of electric motor after alignment. Fasten the electric motor by the regulating plate for better.

3.4.3 Release the anchor bolts of electric motor, then pull back the electric motor to a little distance which ensure inserting nylon pin. While the electric motor moving, the anchor shim cannot be moved. Reset the electric motor after inserting the nylon pins. And then fasten the anchor bolts. Realign installation complete

 

4. WORKING OIL (Attach picture 3)

4.1 Requirement of Working Oil

The working oil must be advantaged low viscosity, high density, high flash point, low condensation point, high ageing resistance, low corrosive, good flowable etc. In our (GB433-86)machinery oil or no.20 machine oil for gas turbine engine, correspond with no.20 machinery oil and no.20 machine oil for gas turbine engine (turbine oil).

4.2 Inject Oil

Constant fling coupling adopt quantitative injection oil in the concert working condition. To inject oil, unscrew an oil filling plug on the shell of fluid coupling first, and then unscrew a fuse plug nearby. Inject quantitative oil in to fluid coupling from oil filling hole. After the first injection, rotate the fluid coupling to just let oil flowing out from fuse plug, at this moment, mark at the top of outside flange which perpendicular to the center line of fluid coupling. And this marker will be the standard oil level of checking and injection oil afterward.

4.3 Temperature of working Oil

The allowable temperature of working oil is lower than 75℃ in common and lower than 110℃ in a jiffy. When the temperature of oil is higher than 110℃ , the working oil and oil seal will be accelerate ageing, therefore causes fault. When the temperature of oil is higher than 120℃,the fusible alloy in fuse plug will meet and oil spurt out. At this time it is necessary to check loading condition and solve problem.

4.4 Quantity of Working Oil

Every style fluid coupling has its own power transmission range, which we called power band, and this band accord to the quantity of working oil. The quantity range of fluid coupling is 50%~80~ of whole volume. The more or less quantity is deterministic influence for the performance of fluid coupling, the quantity being more higher than standard value causes the motor's starting starting moment of force and the fluid coupling's overload moment of force increasing, and make overload save performance lower. The quantity being much lower than standard value causes hardly starting for the transmission moment of force decreasing, and the fusing oil melting and the oil spurting out for oil temperature increasing easily.

In supplying the quantity of working oil in every fluid coupling ensured according to the working condition offered in order, and customer can look up its value in the attached direction. It has been handed in the maximum diameter place of the production before shipping.

 

5. Safe protection model

5.1 Fuse plug

Fuse plug is an overheat protection equipment of the fluid coupling. The output speed decelerates to stop in overload or braking and make slip increasing and efficiency jumpy decreasing, so the power losing. During this time, slip increases and efficiency drops more and more, and the lost power is transmitted to heat, so the temperature of fluid coupling rapidly elevated to 120℃ .The fusing alloys in fuse plug melted lead to oil spurt and unload that object to protect electric motor and load .After oil spurting, do find out the reason of the fluid coupling being over heated. Inject oil to standard quantity again and use another new fuse plug after trouble clearing, and forbid to use solid screw plug replacing fuse plug.

5.2 Protective Cove Made By Customer

Customers can make the protective cover according to the requirements of fluid coupling's working environment and place, and must take the ventilation and cooling into account.

 

6. Operation and maintainance

6.1 The fluid coupling has been tested in balance and sealing before supply, so it can directly run after doing installation, adjustment and oil injection step by step after delivery. Every supplied fluid coupling takes two fuse plugs.

6.2 The fluid coupling is suitable for horizontal or vertical installation, it can rotate in clockwise or counterclockwise direction, but avoid reverse rotation for prevents the fluid coupling's connection units from being broken caused by too big inertia force.

6.3 The fluid coupling is no need to be maintained frequently, but the aging condition ought to be checked. The oil should be changed in 500 hours' running or about one and a half month for the first time. In normal operating the oil is changed in every 10000~15000 hours.

6.4 Terminally check and timely align the coaxiality of fluid coupling and electric motor and the coaxiality of fluid coupling and load. The rigidity of fixing basis must be hard for preventing from shaking.

6.5 Terminally check the elastic lates ring's and nylon pin's worm-out condition. When the elastic units are worn out fast and the running equipment appears shaking, do check coaxiality and align deviant, and then change elastic units.

6.6 Don't dismantle the fluid coupling in regular running for avoiding breaking sealing and balance deviant.

6.7 Rigidly forbid changing the working medium of fluid coupling. The operation must obey to this direction.
